Ring-Sight: A logbook about how artificial intelligence gets into creative work.
Ring–Sight / Vol. 00

For 20 years (and counting), Nocaut has worked in creativity for entertainment. We've lived through plenty of transformations — but this one feels different. More radical. Deeper. Somewhere along the way, more unsettling.

But since our style sits in the opposite corner from stillness, instead of sitting around wondering whether AI is going to take our jobs, we'd rather keep doing what we do best: pushing curiosity and our passion for writing, designing, editing and imagining possible worlds — ones where AI isn't a ten-headed monster, but a powerful tool pushing us, partly by circumstance, partly by our own interest, to redefine how we work. The future isn't around the corner anymore. It's here.

02/ The ten-headed monster

It's already found its way into our daily processes — images, script drafts, visual sketches, design adjustments — tasks that are helping us make the most of our resources while expanding a toolkit built on technical expertise, experience and artistic sensibility. All of which matters a lot when you're trying to figure out what your routine looks like from here on out.

That's why we created Ring-Sight — an intuitive, thoughtful logbook about the coexistence between us (the humans at Nocaut) and artificial intelligence. A kind of refuge in the competitive grind of creative work. The kind of work AI thinks it can do so easily and quickly — not realizing that its “brain” was built on our experiences, our ways of inhabiting and understanding the world. Sorry, AI. We'll put you to work just like we did with everything else that came our way, from positivism to the present. Just kidding! Kind of.

03/ Threat or tool

The challenge is enormous, and the questions are what drives us to take action and fight this new battle — one where the only thing separating us (for now) from automation is our precious human critical thinking. The kind that, in a moment where “shuffle and deal again” seems like the only logic, will put us back in the position of having to differentiate ourselves from other species. We did it with other mammals. Now we're doing it with artificial intelligence. A new omnipresent kind of intelligence that moves through everything like a virus.

04/ Human thinking + artificial intelligence

So — could it be that our humanity, so often taken for granted, is the master key that saves the human quota in a world being overrun by an ally that showed up as a game and now occupies every corner of our daily lives, leaving less and less room for the life we've always known?

Could it be that the transformation we've started, far from closing doors, might open an infinite range of possibilities we're not even capable of seeing yet?

Think. Create. Curate. A mantra that resonates at Nocaut. Let AI burn the midnight oil while we learn to turn its automatisms into our assistants — and focus on building the new world where the intangible but supreme human thought reigns. Processes we'll be sharing, with all the enthusiasm that defines us, in this new format we're launching today.

The images illustrating this text were AI-generated. Here's how: we asked ChatGPT to suggest ten visual ideas based on the concepts in the text, then used those ideas to generate the corresponding prompts for Runway. We also developed prompts for different illustration styles in Runway. Out of more than a hundred options, these were the ones we chose.

01/ Prompt: Conceptual 3D boxing ring floating in an abstract void. Inside it: human figures with artistic tools (brushes, scripts, keyboards);. Scene should feel symbolic, poetic and airy, not literal.
Style: Bold digital illustration style featuring vibrant saturated colors with sharp, clean vector lines and smooth gradients. The aesthetic combines psychedelic elements with modern pop art, utilizing a striking palette of hot pinks, electric blues, and neon oranges against darker contrasts. The composition employs flat design elements with subtle drop shadows and layered shapes to create depth, while maintaining crisp edges and high contrast boundaries. Pop surrealism, vector art, neon color palette, clean gradients, psychedelic fusion.

02/ Prompt: Surreal 3D creature with ten robotic heads, each stylized differently (cute, clumsy, elegant, odd), observing a calm group of miniature artists creating in peace. Soft, absurd, abstract environment like a children's dreamworld.
Style: A soft, dreamlike 3D rendering style featuring a delicate pastel color palette dominated by peachy pinks and cream whites against powder blue skies. The lighting creates gentle shadows and reflective highlights on smooth metallic surfaces, giving depth and dimension to the scene. Chrome and matte material textures blend seamlessly with subtle ambient occlusion, while the overall composition maintains a clean, modern aesthetic with crisp edges and high-quality anti-aliasing. 3D rendering, pastel aesthetics, chrome reflections, soft lighting, matte textures.

03/ Prompt: 3D abstract scene of a creative studio in a floating dreamlike space, with soft glowing tools (pens, tablets, cameras) suspended in the air. AI presence suggested through ethereal light patterns or holographic layers. Foggy atmosphere, illustration style, no realism.
Style: Digital illustration style featuring bold contrasting colors of coral pink against a deep turquoise background, creating a striking two-tone aesthetic. Clean vector-like linework defines the shapes with subtle gradients adding dimensional depth and smooth transitions between tones. The composition employs a minimalist approach with negative space, while maintaining fluid organic forms that create visual movement across the frame. Soft shadows and highlights give the artwork a slight 3D quality while keeping the overall style flat and graphic. Neo-minimalism, coral pink palette, vector art, organic flow, turquoise backdrop.

04/ Prompt: Dreamy 3D artwork of a face emerging from a cloud of abstract data shapes and neural threads, with soft warm and cool hues, no realism, cinematic but stylized. Textures should feel like clay, wax or fabric.
Style: A soft, ethereal aesthetic with a muted sage green background and vibrant marigold orange accents creating a harmonious vintage color palette. The photography employs a dreamy double exposure technique with intentional blur and grain texture that adds a nostalgic film quality. Geometric symbols are overlaid with subtle transparency, while the lighting is diffused and atmospheric, creating a gentle glow throughout. Vintage editorial, double exposure, film grain texture, muted color palette, ethereal lighting.
